ERA kicks off 2023 with new Head of Technical Product

Leading home security and fenestration component provider, ERA, has appointed a new Head of Technical Product as part of its commitment to providing fabricators and installers with the highest quality hardware and decorative furniture.

Graham Colls, who has over 35 years’ experience delivering technical development and product management for the fenestration industry, will be leading ERA’s inhouse team of product experts to further accelerate its product innovation strategy.

Working in partnership with ERA’s engineering and category management teams, Graham’s primary focus will be ensuring we design and manufacture high-performance hardware that meets the requirements of its extensive customer base.

This includes the evolution of existing product ranges, the creation of ground up designs, and the development of bespoke products that meet specific customer applications, in line with the latest industry developments and consumer demand.

As a result, Graham and his team will be responsible for spearheading designs across ERA’s complete portfolio of hardware for timber, aluminium, PVCu and composite.

Graham’s appointment at ERA follows a successful career in senior management roles at systems houses including Duraflex, VEKA, Epwin Group and UK Window Group, in addition to the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF).

Over the last three decades, Graham has gained extensive and specialist knowledge in new product development and application, which he will be applying as part of his new role at ERA.

Speaking of his new appointment, Graham says:

“I am looking forward to defining our customer’s product needs and turning them into a reality with ERA’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable technical product team.

“Working closely with the highly skilled engineering team, we will ensure every product has a fully rounded approach across its design, mechanisms, and usability, to ensure it provides customers with the highest standards of performance and security.

“ERA is well known in the industry for its new ways of thinking and with that, 2023 promises to be yet another year of innovation for the company. The wider team and I are already working on creative security solutions that not only have technical performance but additional and important considerations such as sustainability at the front and centre. The future certainly looks bright.”

As part of his new role, Graham will also be working alongside ERA’s UKAS-accredited test centre at its Midlands head office, where each product undergoes extensive testing to ensure the highest possible standards of security and durability.
