ERA combines 19th Century appeal with 21st Century technology

As part of its commitment to continuous product innovation, ERA, one of the UK’s leading home security and fenestration component providers, has launched a new range of 19th-century ironmongery-inspired window handles.

Forming part of the popular Fab&Fix Heritage window and door hardware range, the new Tear Drop and Monkey Tail key locking handles are suitable for fabrication with timber and PVCu casement windows fitted with an espagnolette lock.

Providing manufacturers with the highest standards of functionality and aesthetics, the period-inspired window handles are manufactured from die-cast zinc and are available in five patented Hardex finishes, including Antique Black and Hardex Pewter.

Suitable for manufacture with traditional casement windows, the slim profile of the handles also makes them compatible with the narrow sightlines of contemporary flush casement profiles. The addition of a positive stop also ensures the handle automatically locks on closing and prevents the gearbox from jamming or being forced, to deliver first class security and peace of mind.

Supplied in 30mm, 40mm, 45mm and 55m spindle variations to suit a variety of profile systems, complementary dummy and operating stays are also available to support window manufacturers in creating a cohesive window design that meets the requirements of every customer.

Sarah Knight, Product Manager at ERA, said: “As experts in decorative hardware for over 30 years, Fab&Fix continues to set the standard for beautifully designed hardware that provides unrivalled levels of performance and security.

“By combining modern manufacturing methods with traditional designs, we have been able to deliver a high-performance finish that is harder wearing than traditional wrought iron furniture, whilst still creating an authentic visual appeal. As a one stop shop that has the largest suite of hardware and decorative furniture in the greatest range of finishes, we are well positioned to support manufacturers in meeting the needs of every customer.”

As an extension of the Fab&Fix Heritage range, the handles support manufacturers in creating matching door and window sets in a range of Hardex finishes to meet the individual requirements of every property.

Suitable for use with a full PAS 24 test and strength tested to the equivalent of a modern espagnolette window handle, the two designs are supplied with a 10 year mechanical guarantee and have been tested to 25,000 cycles and NSST Grade 5 (480 hours).
