Keeping the needs of fabricators, installers and end-users at the fore, ERA remains dedicated to improving security, performance, and sustainability. Demonstrated in the continued development of its industry-leading portfolio and new product innovations.

From a one-man-band locksmith business to a 195 plus strong home security and fenestration company that stays true to its roots. Based at the i54 Business Park, in the heart of the West Midlands, ERA’s workforce operates from a 135,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art facility that houses extensive technical capabilities, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, assembly and warehousing.

Now part of Quanex Hardware Solutions, a division of the global Quanex group, ERA draws on extensive global expertise and resources to deliver on its continued commitment to innovation, customer service, and sustainability.

Rising Star – Lara Coutinho - ERA

Since her appointment at ERA, just over two years ago, Lara Coutinho has worked tirelessly to translate the company’s high-level sustainability ambitions, set out in the company’s Sustainability Roadmap, into tangible, impactful KPIs and actions, turning its vision into reality.

From improving site operations, to leading packaging development, to encouraging responsible sourcing and working on the implementation of Environmental Product Declarations, Lara has been responsible for the successful project management of a wide range of sustainability initiatives for ERA, all with a commercial outlook in mind.

Thanks to her efforts, following Quanex’s successful acquisition of Tyman in 2024, Lara was approached by Jonathan Garrett, VP Global Sustainability at Quanex, to undertake a new role as Quanex’s Global Supply Chain Sustainability Manager. Eager to create a tangible impact across the entire Quanex supply chain, Lara accepted and has been in the role since February 2025.
