ERA celebrates nine year partnership with Secured by Design

ERA, one of the UK’s leading home security and fenestration component providers, has renewed its membership with the official police security initiative, Secured by Design, for a ninth consecutive year.

The long term partnership reflects ERA’s continued commitment to providing its extensive professional and domestic customer base with the highest standards in security, performance and certification across its comprehensive product offering.

Over 40 of ERA’s lock, hardware and mail delivery solutions are accredited by Secured by Design’s Police Preferred Specification scheme, which provides a recognised standard for all security products that have been proven to effectively deter and reduce crime.

This includes its renowned range of Nightlatches, Fortress Cylinders and Balmoral Door Handles, which are designed by ERA’s in-house team of engineering experts at its headquarters in the West Midlands.

Helen Downer, UK and Ireland President of ERA’s parent company, Tyman plc, said: “Since 1838, ERA has provided fabricators, installers, locksmiths, security professionals and homeowners with a total security solution that sets the standards for reliability, protection and certification.

“Our ongoing relationship with Secured by Design reflects our continued commitment to product innovation and our position at the very forefront of industry developments. We are continuously extending our portfolio of products to ensure they are not only compliant with the latest security standards, but that they also successfully address emerging crime trends.”

As the official police security initiative owned by the UK Police Service, Secured by Design aims to reduce crime and help people live more safely, by improving the physical security of buildings and working with market-leading manufacturers, including ERA.

Secured by Design Development Officer, Hazel Goss, said: “It has been a great pleasure to work with ERA since 2012 and we are delighted that it has extended its partnership with Secured by Design for another year.”

Throughout 2021, ERA will be working in close collaboration with Secured by Design, as it further expands its ERA Protect smart security eco-system and introduces new locking and hardware solutions to provide professionals and their customers with the very latest innovations in home security.
